IF YOU ARE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, NO MATTER HOW SMALL
IT MAY SEEM, OR IF THERE IS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO ANY OF THE
VEHICLES INVOLVED...YOU MUST:
|
|
|
- Call the police to the accident scene to fill out an
accident report or to go to the police station with all
persons involved and fill out an accident report (filled out
by everyone involved). Make sure all insurance information
on everyone involved goes on the report and a full
description of the accident. Once this is done you can
decide if you want to settle with or without insurance
involvement. In the event the other person does not want to
pay for your damages because of discrepancies on the cost of
repairs, being that you have a police report, it will be
easy to put in an insurance claim with their insurance
company.
The police, or incident report is also needed because a
lawsuit for in bodily injury or property damage can be
claimed up to 24 months later.
- Call your insurance agent or insurance company no matter
how small the damages are. This will save you time and
aggravation in the long run if the other person puts in a
claim against you. Any additional questions, contact
